In 2020 during the first covid lockdown I created an article to be featured in two different knitting magazines. I developed a routine of simple stretches to help knitters stay supple, as that particular hobby involves sitting for long periods of time.

- Charity Run With Pat-

In 2022 I organised a charity 5k run for the Scottish Association for Mental Health. The main focus of this was my client Pat, who lost a brother to suicide and struggled with mental health himself. At 65 he is an inspiration to the gym as a whole as he has fully embraced fitness training. We planned this charity run together to raise awareness of mental health issues and raise funds for a good cause. We managed to raise an incredible £2217

- ReBoot -

One of my current projects, alongside James Docherty, is to set up ReBoot, focusing on building young but highly skilled peronsal trainers and helping them create a business that will last them a lifetime. This passion project came from my own journey to become the PT I am today, the struggle to build my own business from scratch and the lack of support that I found from the industry.

Reboot wants to modernise the fitness industry away from the sterotypes of just being skinny or massively strong, and help everyone find their niche and improve their lives through fitness, health and exercise.

Over 3 years of training Gordon we have gone beyond a PT / Client relationship and have found a friendship that will last a life time. When we started training Gordon had hardly ever touched a weight and had never found enjoyment from training, now I can't keep him out of the gym. He has managed to build his deadlift from 70kg all the way up to 180kg and build his fitness levels up to a point when he could complete a circuit to where he is now running a full 5k.

There has been a complete physical change in Gordon but mostly importantly he has found a confidence that he never knew he had. In 2022 I was lucky enough to attend Gordon's wedding to Tracy and to find out from those in attendance how much of a positive change he has made is inspirational. It doesn't stop there for Gordon either, he is determined to keep improving and building himself up for a lifestyle of health and happiness. One of our main aims not is to complete Tough Mudder and raise money for a charity that is very close to his heart

Having never been in a gym before knowing the correct exercise regime to achieve my goals was a daunting prospect.

Thomas has been a great PT in supporting my training objectives and I have seen a continual improvement from my sessions which are run in a relaxed yet supportive environment.

Thomas is focused on helping me achieve my goals and makes every session challenging (and somehow fun in a masochistic sort of way!). My fitness has increased noticeably and I’ve seen improvements in my ability to complete more core exercises, lift progressively heavier weights and generally push myself harder throughout each session. Marco is a contant inspiration and for the past 2 year has done nothing but 100% effort into everything we have done together. Marco suffers from cerebral palsey and has had to fight to be able to live a normal life, but here he is working a 9-5 job, going out with his friends and family while hitting the gym 3 times a week, every week!

When we started together Marco wasn't able to squat, activate his quads or hamstring properly and had almost no upper body strength. Since he has began training he has been able to:

  • Barbell squat
  • Deadlift over 40kg
  • Incline Press 20kg dumbbells
  • Not only walk easier but walk hold 16kg dumbbells and farmers walk with them
  • Use a bike to not only cycle, but do sprints and hill climbs
